Weft

Weft carries your DaVinci Resolve timeline across to After Effects. One click in Resolve, and After Effects opens with the edit already built.

What comes across

• Edit structure. Every clip lands on the right layer at the right frame, in a new comp named after your timeline.
• Transforms and keyframes. Position, scale, rotation, anchor point and pitch/yaw come across, with the real bezier easing and no rough approximations.

• Retimes. Speed ramps and curves become exact AE time remaps.

• Fades, titles, markers and subtitles. All transfer with correct attributes
• Disabled clips come in switched off, or you can leave them out.

How it works

1. In Resolve, run Workspace > Scripts > Weft Send to AE. 2. After Effects opens (or comes to the front) and builds the comp.

Only need a few clips? Select them in Resolve (21.0.3 or later) and they drop into the comp you have

open in AE. No Studio licence? Export an .otio from Resolve and import it from the Weft panel.

Good to know

• One Ctrl+Z undoes the whole import.
• Footage already in your project is reused, never imported twice.
• Anything Weft can't translate gets a "Weft:" marker on that layer, so nothing fails silently.
• Not carried over: colour grades, audio levels, and the text of Fusion (Text+) titles, which Resolve doesn't export.
